D.I.Y. Your Own Nail Polish Cups
I have been looking for fun and creative ways to brighten up my home, so I decided to start with our plain white cups. Nail polish designed cups are an inexpensive and creative way to add eye-popping colors to any home. The project can be a little messy, but the mess is worth it when you see how beautiful the cups turn out.
All you will need are basic white cups, nail polish of any kind, warm water, a disposable container, a toothpick or wooden skewer, cotton balls or cotton pads, and nail polish remover.
The process is simple, but you have to move fast:
~First fill the disposable container with warm water
~Next, pour your nail polish into the warm water.
~Quickly, take your skewer or toothpick and stir the nail polish around in the water to give it the swirled look.
~Then dip your cup into the water, but only dip it to the point at which you want the nail polish to end.
~Swish the cup around in the water then pull it out to push away excess.
~place cup on its rim (upside down) on a rag or paper towel to dry.
~Lastly wait until it's fully dry, and wash it.
If you have any nail polish on the inside of your cup or on the rim, take your cotton ball or cotton pad, pour some nail polish remover on it, then wipe it off.
This project can be very messy, so i personally suggest that if you're doing it that you lay a protective barrier over your counter or floor. Below is a picture of my finished product:
