DIY Make-Up Rainbow Highlighter
A trend that’s been going around in makeup is the “rainbow highlighter.” If you were to buy the actual product you would be spending a range from $3 to $24 for the same product, but on different websites.
If you don’t want to spend too much money trying to get this product, make your own. All you need is (if you have it) shimmery eye shadow (red, yellow, orange, green, blue, and purple), a cleaned out eye shadow or highlighter palette, rubbing alcohol, something to mix it all with (a paint palette, a paper plate, a paper bowl (should be something disposable or easily cleaned), and something to stir it with (butter knife, spoon, fork).
The rainbow highlighter product is often sold out and hard to find. It’s easier to find the materials needed to make some.
Here are the steps from instructables.com:
Step one: Get an old eye shadow or highlighter palette and remove it from its container.
Step two: Using the shimmery eye shadows of your choice (vibrant or pastel rainbow colors) and crush them in separate areas so they don’t mix. You can use some actual highlighter if you don’t think your eye shadow isn’t shiny enough.
Step three: Add a little bit off rubbing alcohol at a time till the eye shadows become a paste.
Step four: Place each color in a cleaned out eye shadow palette or highlighter palette in order.
Step five: Press on the shades with a paper towel to get rid of excess rubbing alcohol.
Step six: Let it dry for about 24 hours.
Step seven: using a highlighter brush, apply to your cheekbone area.
