17-Year-Old Skater Nails 5 'Quads' and Sets Record
According to denverpost.com, on Sunday, Feb. 19, 2017, at the ISU Four Continents Figure Skating Championships in South Korea, Nathan Chen gave an amazing performance. The best international scores were set by Chen, who finished at a score of 307.46.
The 17-year-old skater landed five quadruple jumps. According to the International Olympic Committee, “A quad, or quadruple, is a figure skating jump with no less than four revolutions.”
Chen's point amount in the event was the highest in the world this season, and his victory was the biggest title of his young career, according to nbcsports.com.
After the competition, Chen told reporters, “There are definitely things I need to work on, but I’m certainly happy with the way everything went.”
