Valdosta Man Shot To Death In Car
At around 6:30 am on the morning of Saturday, February 11, 2017, in Valdosta, Georgia, a man was found shot to death in the head while sitting in his car. It is the first homicide of this year in Valdosta.
According to ValdostaToday.com, after someone called 911 to say that a man was sitting in a car on the 600 block of East Broad Street and not moving, “Uniformed officers responded to the area to check the welfare of the man.”
When emergency workers later reported the man was pronounced dead, the police immediately sealed the scene and began to talk to witnesses about the crime.
According to Valdosta investigators, the man is identified as Terry Williams, who was 44 and lived in Valdosta.
According to WCTV.com and other sources, the shooting does not appear to be “random,” and a deputy from the VPD believes the shooting was probably drug related. "I think if you look at most homicides across the country, you're going to see one of two things. They're either drug related or gang related," says Chief Childress.
The detectives are still trying to get information about the victim, and the crime technicians are trying to get information from the evidence collected. No arrests have been made yet, and anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact the Valdosta Police Department.
