Amazon Offering New Monthly Educational Toy Subscription

According to "The Verge," Amazon is launching a new Stem Club subscription, "a monthly program that delivers handpicked, high-quality Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math toys to your door at a great price. Each month you will receive a different, age-appropriate stem toy that will encourage your child to learn through play. From robotics to natural sciences, there’s always a new discovery on the way."

Amazon has had a Stem toy storefront on its online store since 2015, but this new subscription is pushing science and technology toys for a more educational look and feel.

According to CNET.com, the service is currently only available in the US and is similar to educational toy subscriptions such as MEL Science, Kiwi Crate, The Curiosity Box and Steve Spangler's Science Club. Some of the types of toys offered include "programmable robots, crystal kits and chemistry sets."

The subscription will cost about $19.99 a month, and is offered in three different versions: one for children 3-4 years old, one for children 5-7 years old, and one for children 8-13 years old.

Although there have not been may reviews yet on the official Amazon website, one customer, who claimed to be a grandmother, said "it is the gift that will give all year. Good quality work for the children to expand their minds." Another user called it an "Amazing gift idea. Genius. Finally! We need to teach this in America. Really a must buy for everyone who wants their kids to succeed in life and who cares about their future! We need this!"
