On Monday, January 23, 2017, the title for the next Star Wars film was released, “Star Wars VIII: The Last Jedi.” The movie comes out December 15.

There is no trailer yet, and not much is known about the plot, according to NYTimes.com, Mark Hamill, who famously played Luke Skywalker in the original films, will also appear in “The Last Jedi,” and many fans suspect that he may be the father of Rey, the main character from the last film.

Carrie Fisher, who played Princess Leia, passed away last month. She will appear in "The Last Jedi"

Many fans have wondered if a digitally re-created Princess Leia will be included in the film. Lucasfilm has come out publicly since Fisher’s death, however, and said that they will not include such scenes.
