Hasselback Chicken Recipe: My Experience


This week I was on Facebook, and I noticed my mom shared a post from a famous Facebook page, "Tasty." The recipe was for Hasselback Chicken.

I decided to give it a try and see how it would turn out. If you would like to try this really simple dish at home, here's the recipe:

Ingredients:

-Chicken breast (quantity is optional)

-A handful of baby spinach

-Ricotta (I used cream cheese, but you can use either)

-Shredded white cheddar cheese

-Paprika

Directions:

First, Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. While the oven is heating up, you will need to slit your chicken breast (not too deep, just make little pockets deep enough to stuff it).

Second, you will need a small skillet, (about 10 inches), your baby spinach, and cream cheese. You will wilt your spinach in the skillet, then add your cheese, and mix it together until you get a creamy mixture, almost like a dip. Third, you will take the skillet off of the heat, season your chicken with salt and pepper, and stuff your chicken with the mixture and top it with the white cheddar cheese and paprika.

Finally, put the chicken in the oven for about 45 minutes to an hour then enjoy!

The first time I made this, I used just one chicken breast and put it in the oven for 30 minutes (the video says to cook it for 20-25 minutes). Even though I cooked it for longer than the original recipe suggested, it was really tender when I cut into it (like butter!) The second time I made it, I put it in the oven for 45 minutes, and it was about the same as the first time, so just to be on the safe side, I would recommend cooking it for around 45 minutes.
