Book Review: Clockwork Angel (Book 1 in the Infernal Devices Trilogy)
"Clockwork Angel," the first book in Cassandra Clare's popular young adult/fantasy series known as "The Infernal Devices," is a book about a girl named Tessa Grey who discovers she has a power to shape-shift when a group called the dark sisters kidnaps her. After kidnapping Tessa, they try to teach her how to use her powers, so that when she is forced to marry a man called The Magister he can receive her powers.
Boys by the names Will and Jem help her escape, and it later turns out that he and his fellow friends are Nephilm, better known as Shadow Hunters. All this time, Tess was trying to find her brother Nathaniel, but the darkness had already overcome him. Jem and Will have their own dark secrets that they try to keep from Tessa, but it's only a matter of time before she finds out.
The "Clockwork Angel" is by far one of my most treasured reads, and it will definitely pull you in, making it impossible to set the book down. The Infernal Devices is a trilogy that is totally worth your time, and they also serve as a prequel trilogy to "The Mortal Instruments" series.
