SC Man Charged with Four Counts of Murder
In Columbia, South Carolina, 45 year-old Todd Kohlhepp was charged Sunday in a quadruple murder that took place in South Carolina 13 years ago. He was denied bond, and his next court appearance is January 9, 2017.
Growing up, Kohlhepp was very cruel. He destroyed his new remodeled bedroom, killed his goldfish by pouring bleach into their bowl, and locked a boy in a dog cage and rolled him around. He also once threatened to kill his mother.
He is now suspected in seven deaths; the police say that Kohlhepp confessed to both the murders of 32-year-old Charles Carver, who was found buried on his 95 acres of land after being shot multiple times, as well as the four murders he’s been charged with. Carver was also the boyfriend of Kala Brown, who was found Thursday in a locked metal container and chained like a dog.
Charles Carver and Kala Brown went missing around August 31, 2016. The only reason they were found was that the last cell phone signals led the authorities to Kohlhepp’s property.
Kohlhepp was a real-estate agent who received his license ten years ago from the South Carolina real-estate commission. He was registered as a sex offender after he was released from prison in 2001 for an incident that happened to a 15-year-old girl.
