North Florida Fair in Tallahassee Starts Tonight

Our staffer says the "Fireball" (seen here) is her favorite ride!

The 75th annual North Florida Fair begins today in Tallahassee, Florida, and runs through November 13 at the North Florida Fairgrounds on Paul Russell Road. Tickets can be purchased through today from Tallahassee location Walgreens and the gates for the remainder of the festival.

The normal regular gate admission price is $8 for adults and $5 children 6-12 years old, but tonight gate admission tickets cost just 75 cents for adults and youth to celebrate the fair’s 75th anniversary. Public parking for the event is located at Tram Road and Capital Station.

Gates open at 5 pm on weekdays and noon Saturday and Sundays, as well as Friday, November 11. Buildings begin closing around 10:30-11:00 pm on most nights, and the midway closes around midnight to 1:00 am.

There are many different special events and prices such as “Two Buck Tuesday” and “Carload Night,” but the average gate ticket for an adult is typically around $8 for adults. Unlimited ride tickets are usually $25. Children five years and under always get in free with a paid adult. Visit northfloridafair.com for individual day prices and for more information.

For fairgoers who want a laid back experience, the Ferris wheel is a popular ride, whereas adrenaline junkies may want to check out the “Fireball a looping roller coaster-style ride. If you want to have a fun time with your friends, you may want to give the Tilt-A-Whirl a “spin” – unless you don’t like spinning, that is!

If you’re looking for entertainment with the family, our staff recommends the Wild World of Animals or the Anastasini Circus. All non-ride entertainment is free with basic gate admission. Nature lovers will also enjoy the flora and plants display at the Flora Building.
