Six Dead in Northwest Georgia Mobile Home Fire
On October 24, 2016, authorities received a call at around 10:30 pm reporting a mobile home fire in Trion, Georgia. According to the Georgia Fire Marshall's office, six individuals were killed in the fire, including two adults and four children.
It was later learned that the fire was caused by the stove being installed improperly, according to reports. Investigators said the stove was placed too far to the inside wall, and the fire began when the wood paneling caught fire. The fire was ruled as an accident by investigators.
According to news4jax.com, the victims were Mirion Jones, 29, his wife Demi, 22, and their three children, who ranged in age from three months to five years. A 5-year-old cousin staying the night with the family also died in the fire.
