Cairo High School Homecoming Week

Once again, it’s the one week we’ve all been waiting for, Homecoming 2016. This Friday, our Syrupmakers will take on the Columbus Blue Devils. We will also crown our 2016 Homecoming Queen during halftime at the game.

During the week, the school participates in Homecoming Dress Up days. Monday is “Dress for Success”/”Millionaire Monday”; Tuesday is “Character Day,” on which you can dress as your favorite character from any television show or movie; Wednesday is “Multiplicity Day,” which is more than twins; Thursday is “Throwback Thursday,” on which you can dress like you’re from the ‘50s, ‘60s, ‘70s, ‘80s, ‘90s, or 2000s; and Friday is our traditional Red vs. Black Friday. This year, freshmen and seniors are asked to wear red, and sophomores and juniors are asked to wear black.

This morning, we held our annual Homecoming Assembly, where we found out our Homecoming King nominees and our Homecoming Queen nominees. Each King nominee was given a candy bag and a bucket. Each King has to raise money for the rest of the week, and whichever nominee raises the most money will be announced as the 2016 Homecoming King at the pep rally this Friday.

Thursday, October 27, 2016 will be our Homecoming Parade. During the Parade, be on the lookout for the Homecoming Queen and King nominees.
