Mother Charged With the Death of Her 17-Year-Old Son

On October 19, 2016, a 50-year-old woman, Sabrina Robinson, from Havana, Florida, was charged in the death of her son, Javontez Thomas, who had been starved and weighed 45 pounds at the time of his death. Living in the home were Robinson, her boyfriend, their 24-year-old daughter, and Thomas, who was 17 years old. According to a WCTV report, Thomas had been dead for days before authorities were alerted.

According to the report, a nearby neighbor said that she hadn’t seen Javontez since he was 11-years-old. She thought he had moved in with his father, but the whole time he was inside the house slowly growing thinner and closer to death. The family reportedly used air fresheners to mask the smell of Thomas’s room, as he was too weak to leave the room to use the restroom.
