Healthy Tuna Sandwich Recipe
Have you ever tried a healthy tuna sandwich? I have, and it's pretty good to try if you’re trying to go on a diet or lose weight and still eat tuna if it’s your favorite thing to eat. With this healthy tuna sandwich, you can add other healthy ingredients with the tuna before making the sandwich.
The following basic Betty Crocker recipe is healthy because it features fresh vegetables and tuna canned in water rather than oil.
2 cans (6 oz. each) tuna in water
1 medium stalk celery
1 small onion
½ cup mayonnaise or salad dressing
1 teaspoon lemon juice
¼ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon pepper
8 slices bread
Drain the tuna in a strainer in the sink. Chop the celery to measure 1/2 cup. Peel and chop the onion to measure
In a medium bowl, mix the tuna, celery, onion, mayonnaise, and lemon juice, salt and pepper.
Spread tuna mixture on 4 bread slices. Top with remaining bread slices.

• 2 teaspoons prepared horseradish
• 2 slices rye bread

• 1 cup sliced cucumbers
• 1 tablespoon less-sodium, low-fat Italian dressing
Combine mayonnaise and horseradish in a small bowl; stir well with a whisk.
Spread mayonnaise mixture on both bread slices. Top 1 bread slice with roast beef, spinach, and remaining bread slice. Serve with cucumber slices drizzled with dressing.
