FSU vs. Miami Recap
This weekend, Saturday, October 8, 2016, the University of Miami Hurricanes came up short one point to the Florida State Seminoles.
The Hurricanes entered the game undefeated and ranked 10th and had never trailed this season. The team hasn’t had a real test team this season, FSU was that team.
The FSU/Miami rivalry has been ongoing for 65 years with Miami crushing FSU in their very first match-up with a score of 35-13. Since then, it has always been a head to head battle with the Hurricanes and the Seminoles.
It was a very close and exciting game, but the ultimate highlight of the game was when FSU DeMarcus Walker swatted kicker Michael Badgley’s field goal kick to prevent overtime after Stacy Coley made an amazing 11-yard touchdown catch with 1:38 left in the game.
UM Coach Mark Richt stated that the game was a “tough one to finish the way it did.” He also stated “Obviously, getting what looked [to be] the score to tie it up and not being able to protect well enough to kick an extra point is tough, tough for everybody. But to their credit, somebody cared enough to blast through and get it. It was a great effort on their part.”
Before halftime, Miami gained a 10-point lead but that came to a stop when FSU player Tarvarus McFadden intercepted a pass that was originally meant for Brad Kaaya with 11:16 left in the third.
This Saturday, October 15, 2016 the Seminoles will play against Wake Forest at Wake Forest at 3:30 PM Eastern Time.
