Thomasville Teacher Arrested for Child Cruelty
A Thomasville teacher is out on bond after being charged with child cruelty. Linda McLean, a 66-year-old director and founder of the Favor Christian Academy in Thomasville, GA.
As of now, the victim is an 11-year-old at the academy. Many people in the community are outraged at the actions of this woman.
The students of the academy are now out for fall break which is on week before the other schools in the city, following McLean's arrest.
A Thomas County resident heard the news and stated, “You can whip a child, but there’s a difference between whipping them and beating them.”
A fellow teacher also reported that McLean told the student she would “choke the life out of her” in front of an entire class.
The Thomasville Police Department said this case is ongoing, and more charges will be on the way for McLean.
