Streets Runs Red in Bangladesh

In Bangladesh there is a celebration that is happening called Eid al-Adha which is having animals be sacrificed with heavy rains. Also referred to as the Feast of Sacrifice it is a religious celebration about Abraham and sacrificing a goat instead of his son.

Many families’ that partake in the tradition often after sacrifice share the meat of the animal with the poor. Even though there were laws against sacrificing in the streets it was still done and now the streets are flooded with red water.

Eid al Adha is the second biggest holiday in the Muslim religion besides Ramadan.

The animal activists and critics against the act called the ancient ritual barbaric. The images and videos on social media made an uproar to activists around the world saying that it was unsanitary and vile.
