Movie Preview: Doctor Strange

Marvel has done its fair share of really good superhero movies, including the recent films Captain America: Civil War, Deadpool, Avengers 2: Age of Ultron, and many others over the past years. This year, in 2016, Marvel is ending it with an upcoming movie titled Doctor Strange, which will be released in theaters on November 4. The movie is being directed by director Scott Derrickson, who directed of the film Sinister, along with the actor playing the “Sorcerer Supreme,” Benedict Cumberbatch, also a star in the hit British TV series Sherlock.

This movie might change the game for Marvel fans as Doctor Strange uses not his physical power, but his supernatural mental-type powers which in turn may open up new possibilities to upcoming movies. Unlike the other movies that dealt with things happening on Earth, Doctor Strange deals with the world out of the reality we, or in this case, characters in the movies, know of. This is similar to how Guardians of the Galaxy showed the viewers a whole new out-of-this-world experience with other planets and with aliens and alien tyrants.

For those who do not know about the character himself, Dr. Stephen Strange was a very successful surgeon who, unfortunately, became a victim of a car accident that injured his hands. With this coincidental tragedy, he seeked out the Ancient One, a sorcerer he thought could heal his hands completely. Instead, the Ancient One offered to teach him in the mystical arts. Strange, at first, refused, but then after seeing some devious acts take place, he accepted the offer. After years spent learning these new arts from the Ancient One, Doctor Strange used his powers for the greater good and became known as the “Sorcerer Supreme.”

Here is the latest trailer for Marvel's Doctor Strange, which will soon hit theaters.
