Yesterday, September 11, 2016 marked 15 years since the horrible events that took place the morning of September 11, 2001.
Americans across the United States paid their respects to the lives lost on that unforgettable morning by reciting the names of the dead, tolling church bells and a very special tribute in lights at the very site where the twin towers collapsed.
2,983 names were read by relatives as low, classical music played during the ceremony at the 9/11 Memorial plaza in Manhattan with pauses for moments of silence.
More than 340 firefighters and 60 police were killed on that sunny but dreadful Tuesday morning. 9/11 is the worst attack on U.S. soil since Pearl Harbor was bombed in 1941.
