A Beginner's Guide to Anime and Manga

Manga and Anime: What’s the difference?
First of all, let's be clear: Anime and Manga are not the same thing.
Anime is a style of Japanese film and television animation, typically aimed at adults as well as children and teens.
Manga is a style of Japanese comic books and graphic novels, typically aimed at adults as well as children and teens, too.
Anime is usually found in digital form, such as on television or Netflix. You can find most anime on Netflix, but if you do not have access, you can go on YouTube and look up what you want. Enter the name of the Anime, season, and episode and it should pop up.
Manga, on the other hand, is found in print form – in other words, on paper. You can also find Manga on some Manga websites completely free.
In summary, anime is essentially a show you watch, whereas Manga is a book you read. Those are the main differences. ANIME IS NOT A CARTOON!
Where can I meet others who enjoy Anime and Manga?
There are conventions for people who share the same interest in Anime and Manga, that’s if you are interest in it yourself. A few of them are:
Anime festival, Orlando FL, USA in July/August Established 2000
Anime weekend, Atlanta GA, USA in September Established 1995
AnimeJapan, Tokyo Japan in March Established 2014
Those are just a few out of many conventions all across the world. I’ve noticed there are a lot more in the USA than any other part of the world; however, you can still go to one if you do not live in the USA.
